Akiyama is a famous Japanese golf course photographer who has been visiting
and photographing St Andrews for more than 20 years. Over this period he has shot
tens of thousands of photographs not only of the golf courses in St Andrews but
also of the town and its people. He has produced many books which include "Visiting
The Home of Golf - St Andrews" and more recently finished the centenary book
for the oldest golf club in Japan - Kobe Golf Club. A number of his publications
are held in the library of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club in St Andrews. Masakuni Akiyama is a member of the St Andrews Golf Club and The New Golf Club, St Andrews and has played the Old Course over one hundred times.
