The Open, sometimes referred to as The British Open, is returning to “The Home of Golf” in St Andrews in 2022 which most recently staged The Open in 2015 when Zach Johnson was crowned champion following a four hole play-off also featuring South African Louis Oosthuizen and Australia’s Marc Leishman. St Andrews has produced an illustrious list of winners over the years which includes Jack Nickaus, Peter Thomson, Seve Ballesteros and Tiger Woods to name but a few. Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose will be among the British golfers trying to get their hands on the famous Claret Jug in 2022.
