It has been announced by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews that Royal Birkdale will play host to The Open in 2026. This will be the 154th playing of the championship and the 10th time the championship has been played at this challenging venue in England. Royal Birkdale most recently staged The Open in 2017 when Jordan Spieth lifted the Claret Jug for the first time in his career.
